In this new collection, photographer Birgit Maddox presents a series of self-portraits that she took over the course of a year. In each composition, she is out in nature wearing a simple white dress drawing our eye to her engagement with the natural world. Using a pinhole camera, her images live in the ephemeral space between light and shadow, reality and dreams. The images are also paired with her own poetry--enhancing the inherent intimacy of self-portraiture.
